22 days, 9,000 miles, & the weird American dream

When Ian and I decided to drive cross country in my 1999 Honda shitwagon, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Originally, the two of us planned to record a podcast that told the stories of street musicians across America - who they were, what they played, and how they lived. And sure, we did that. We met amazing people and heard incredible music and learned a lot, and I hope you agree when you hear the show.

But as Ian and I began editing the 40+ hours of footage that we compiled, we realized that Revivalism: Busk was not only a story of the people we met along the way, it was also the story of us: two friends with a crazy idea and a real summertime chance to start making it a reality. The show has fighting and singing and eating and drinking, but underneath it all, it has an honest look at chasing the American Dream, and how doing so isn't really different for any of us. -C

Made a little money playing in the bars
With two beat up drums and two old guitars
From the Crescent City to the Great Salt Lake
It ain't what you got, it's what you make
